Mark Dixon began with the firm in 1989 as a project manager. During his career at The Atkins Group, Mark oversaw the retail developments of Baytowne Square, Baytowne Shoppes and The Pines including transactions with WalMart and Meijer; the office park developments of Stone Creek Commons, East Gate, and Pinehurst Commons; the mixed-use developments of Stone Creek and Clearview; and the industrial park developments of Apollo, Atkins West, and Interstate East including transactions with Plastipak, Ryder, Caterpillar, FedEx, SuperValu, Amazon, and Hyundai Transys. Mark has vast experience in project management, leasing, property management, subdivision management, economic incentives, entitlements (annexation, zoning, platting) and property acquisitions and sales. Since 2020, he has served as President of the company. Mark holds both a Master of Architecture and an M.B.A. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Engaged beyond his day-to-day role, Mark is actively involved in local organizations such as the Champaign County Economic Development Corporation, the Champaign County Farm Bureau Foundation, Second Wind Running Club, Illinois Manufacturing Association, and the St. Thomas More High School Consultative Board. He has previously served on the boards of Parkland College, Champaign County YMCA, Urbana Free Library Foundation, Paul’s Machine & Welding, Unit 116, Champaign County First, Champaign County Alliance, and St Matthew Catholic School.
